Trading and new swaps stopped across 12 of Thorchain’s 13 supported external networks, although certain previously initiated outbound payments remained operational.
THORChain node operators paused swaps involving assets on 10 networks, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and Tron, while trading continued on Avalanche, Base and XRP, according to the protocol’s network status page.
What would settle it: THORChain’s own network status page showing the pause state of each of its supported chains at the time of the incident.
Chainalysis said the malfunction inadvertently delayed laundering activity connected to Binance’s $6.4 billion theft.
The trading halt also disrupted attempts by North Korean hackers to launder funds stolen in last week’s $6.3 billion Binance hack, according to Chainalysis.
What would settle it: Binance’s own disclosure of the total value of assets lost in the hack, or on-chain tracing of the stolen funds.
Treat the reorg, the 10 ETH double refund, the resulting pause, and the FBI’s request as established; the exact number of networks affected and the precise dollar size of the Binance hack remain unresolved between these two reports.
